This primer is an educational tool designed to help professionals involved in osteoarthritis (OA) acquire basic and clinical knowledge about OA. It is valuable for scientists, graduate students, educators, or any training clinicians involved in any aspect of OA management, such as rheumatology, orthopaedics, primary care and allied health.
The primer is free and open to all users.
To gain access you will need to register by providing your name, institution or organization, e-mail address and a newly created username.
Once you register, a password will be e-mailed to you so you can login. We suggest you change your password the first time you access the Primer. Hold on to your username and password as you will need it to login in the future.
PLEASE NOTE: Your username and password for the Primer is NOT the same as your OARSI membership and password.
The primer contains content on various OA topics, from epidemiology to management of the disease. Content is organized by chapter. Some chapters have more than one article. Every chapter has an abstract and/or introduction, the main article and a list of references and/or tables and figures.
You can download chapters, or the entire book. However, downloaded materials cannot be reproduced and are intended for educational use only.
The primer also has a commenting feature. Please use this to make comments on chapter content as you read it. OARSI hopes a dialogue will start among readers through their comments that may in the future help update and enhance the Primer.
For a complete listing of the primer content please review the Table of Contents.
An international group of authors produced the chapters included in the primer. Authors were chosen for their expertise in their respective area. As part of content validation, other experts in the field reviewed each chapter prior to its inclusion in the primer.
