What events are planned for young investigators at the OARSI congress each year?

Back to FAQ's

The YI committee organizes 4 events each year at the congress.  The first is the Pre-congress workshop held on the Thursday morning prior to the start of the congress.  The topics vary each year and it’s a great opportunity to learn about difference research areas and the lessons learned by more senior scientists.  The next is our Meet the Professor Mentorship event.  Pick a topic at registration and we’ll assign you to a mentorship table within your area of interest.  This a great chance to meet those senior scientists who are hard to track down during the meeting.  We typically have a social event at a local pub or restaurant after the mentorship event so everyone can continue their conversations with new friends.  Finally, we have a Lunch workshop for professional development.  Sign up early as this one usually fills up quick!
In addition, the highest rated abstracts by Young Investigators are presented at a special plenary session. These abstracts are selected by the OARSI Program Committee. Be sure to attend to discover the exciting research conducted by YIs around the world!
